Welcome to #8! Originally
my plan was to combine our Halloween stuff with the new
newsletter I've been working
on for the last week, but it's becoming apparent that
won't be ready for likely
at least another week, & I want to get this to you so we can
have your Halloween goodies
in your hands in plenty of time!
There's going to be 3 sections:
1. Sale pricing on some great
classics we've got a lot of
2. New Horror, Fantasy &
Halloweenish sci-fi that's come in since last time
3. A special section of
collector's titles at super low prices that go with the theme of Halloween.
I hope to have the regular
newsletter out to you within a week or so, but for now............... Boo!

(5)
*** The Body Snatcher / I
Walked With a Zombie (Sealed DVD) - hard to
believe that The Val Lewton
box & especially the classic Karloff/Lugosi
vehicle has gone out of
print this quickly! While Bela plays a
subservient role, Body Snatcher
is essential for classic horror fans as
one of the few Karloff/Lugosi
collaborations. For years this film was
highly sought after by both
BK & BL collectors, and as it's already gone
out of print, get it while
you can! Also includes a second Lewton horror
flick. I Walked With a Zombie
with Francis Dee. This is a cutout. Warner
72432. Was $6.99, this week
$5.99 (4)
*** Dark Castle Horror Collection
(Sealed 5 DVD Box set) - Includes the
most recent versions of
House Of Wax, Gothika, House On haunted Hill,
Thirteen Ghosts, & Ghost
Ship. Wide/Full is not stated, but Amazon says
they are all wide screen.
Each dvd is in a separate case with a large
outer box. The outer box
has a thin slice on the side. $42.98 list
price. Warner 10070. Was
$14.99, this week $10.99 (3)
*** Hellraiser - (New Sealed
DVD) - One of my favorite scary movies, features the
Pinheads. 91 minutes, widescreen,
rated "R". Anchor Bay 12329. Was $6.99, this week $5.99 (4)
*** Isle Of The Dead / Bedlam
(Sealed DVD) - From the Val Lewton box,
this features 2 classic
40's Boris Karloff vehicles. Isle of the Dead is
one of the strangest (almost)
Vampire movies ever, & Bedlam is about
torture in an 18th century
London mental Asylum with BK as the bad guy.
Out of print & recommended.
This is a cutout. Warner 7242. Was $6.99,
this week $4.99 (7)
*** King Kong (2006 Peter
Jackson) (Sealed 3 DVD Set) - "Deluxe Extended
Edition" includes a widescreen
version of the fun remake which runs 13
minutes longer than any
other dvd edition, + 6 hours of bonus
features on discs 2 AND

*** The Man With Nine Lives
(Sealed DVD) - Classic Karloff thriller from
1940. Karloff plays a mad
scientist who's restored after a 10 year
hibernation & wants
to continue his evil experiments! Columbia 11163.

(4)
*** The Mummy Lives (Sealed

*** The Ninth Gate (Sealed
DVD) - Suspenseful Gothic horror thriller
stars Johnny Depp. Directed
by Roman Polanski. This is the newer Lions
Gate edition with new cover
art. Rated "R", widescreen. Lions Gate
21285. Was $6.99, this week
$5.99 (5)
*** Return Of The Vampire
(Sealed DVD) - Ok, Bela Lugosi fans, you've
got to pick this one up!
While a later period film that does have a
tacky Werewolf costume,
this is basically Bela reprising his role as
Dracula. Universal owned
the rights to the name "Dracula", so here Bela
is "Armand Tesla", but it's
largely an older version of the same
character. The only other
time bela got to play the vampire after this
was in an Abbot & Costello
B-flick. Bela was actually quite good in
that, but I have trouble
getting past A&C's constant irritation. If like
me you're a Lugosi fan,
I recommend this, I paid quite a bit more for my
copy! Columbia 07872. Was
$7.99, this week $5.99 (6)
*** The Revenge of Frankenstein
(Sealed DVD) - 1958 Hammer sequel to The
Curse Of Frankenstein with
Peter Cushing. Widescreen. Columbia 07873.

worthwhile, even this early
in her career. Widescreen. Wide screen.
Paramount 32806. $5.99 (4)
*** Alone in the Dark (Sealed
DVD) - 2005 video game style horror film
stars Christian Slater,
Tara Reid & Stephen Dorff. Wide screen with
extras. Rated "R". Lionsgate

*** Amityville 3: The Demon
- (Sealed DVD) - 1983 film is 3rd in the
series. This appears to
be the same as "Amityville 3-D", but with the
very misleading "3-D" removed
from the title. Both wide & full screen.
MGM 25662. $6.99
*** Candyman (Sealed DVD)
- THere was a time where the under rated
actress Virginia Madsen
seemed to appear on every made for Television
film from HBO, & while
this is a little bit past that time (1992), I'll
be she's still fun to watch!
This slasher also stars Vanessa Williams.
From a Clive Barker story.
Wide screen, rated "R". Columbia 03944. $5.99
*** Cartoon Network Halloween
2 - Grossest Halloween Ever (Sealed DVD) -
I personally find this of
interest because it includes an I AM Weasel

totally absent from dvd. Also includes 8 more
toons from Powerpuff Girls,
Johnny Bravo, Courage The Cowardly Dog &
more. Warner Canada 73612.
$7.99

(Sealed DVD) - 1980 slasher thriller from
John Carpenter. Stars Jamie
Lee Curtis & Adrienne Barbeau. Wide screen
with lots of special features.
MGM 25183. $5.99
*** Freaks DVD - Hard to
explain this ODD film in a short description.
Most people who see it either
love it or hate it. From 1932, this was
Todd Browning's (director
of the Lugosi Dracula) most infamous film.
Starred Wallace Ford &
Leila Hyams with numerous circus performers from
what was known as "the freak
show" part of the circus in those days.
While there is a semblance
of a melodrama murder plot, this was
basically intended as an
early exploitation shocker. Restored edition
also includes a documentary,
commentary & 3 alternate endings. Warner
51912. $6.99
*** The Grudge 2 Limited
Edition Unrated Director's Cut (Sealed 2 DVD
Set) - This comes in some
sort od special packaging; I'm uncertain if
it's light weight metal

edition with deleted scenes
& 45 minutes of features on disc 2. 1 pound
shipping weight due to the
packaging. Sony 18102. $7.99 (2)
*** Ray Harryhausen Gift
Set - 20 Million Miles To Earth / Earth vs. The
Flying Saucers / It Came
>From Beneath The Sea (Sealed 3 DVD + Book box
set) - Very fun collection
for fans of King King style stop motion
animation with creatures.
R.H. is considered the authoritative
living practioner of the
art; & in fact has been considered so since the
passing of King Kong's animator
Willis O' Brien. I bought my set in
2008, & have enjoyed
it. $59.98 list price! While factory sealed, the
boxes have some small dents.
Sony 13173. $9.99 (4)
*** Harry Potter and the
Order of the Phoenix (Sealed DVD) - Full screen
